Mia Slama becomes an All American at the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Singles Championship

At the  2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Singles Championship, held at the USTA National Campus in Orlando; Slama powered her way into the Round of 16, earning her place as the 11th All-American in NC State women’s tennis history.

Slama opened her tournament in commanding fashion in the Round of 64, facing Ohio State’s Nao Nishino. From the start, Slama controlled the rallies with heavy pace and disciplined point construction, securing a confident 6–2, 6–2 victory.

In the Round of 32, Slama took on Gabia Paskauskas from the University of Florida. Slama’s aggressive baseline play and deep returns consistently pushed Paskauskas off balance. With strong serving and a nearly error-free second set, Slama closed out the match 6–3, 6–1, advancing to the Round of 16 for the first time in her NCAA career.

Her tournament concluded against Jana Hossam Salah from USC. Slama battled closely in the first set, staying within striking range before Salah raised her level to take the match 6–4, 6–0. Despite the loss, Slama’s composure and competitive fire were evident throughout.
