November 22–23, 2025 — Miami Beach, FL
At the Level 5 Open Turkey Classic held at the Miami Beach Tennis Center, rising junior tennis standout Catherine Chan delivered one of the most commanding tournament runs of the fall season. Over two days of intense competition, Chan showcased her consistency, focus, and athleticism, powering through all five rounds without dropping a single set.
Chan opened her tournament in the Round of 32 with a decisive 6–1, 6–0 victory over Khaleesi Castanon, immediately setting the tone. She carried that momentum into the Round of 16, defeating Maya Sanilevich with a 6–0, 6–0 performance—one of her cleanest matches of the weekend.
In the Quarterfinals, Chan faced Alisa Kuteneva. Chan’s ability to control pace and finish points early proved critical, earning her a strong 6–1, 6–2 win and a place in the semifinals.
The Semifinal matchup against Mia Ingco brought Chan her toughest first set of the event. Ingco pushed the tempo and challenged Chan’s shot selection, but Chan remained composed, taking the set 6–4 before accelerating to a dominant 6–0 second set. The win positioned her perfectly for the championship round.
In the Finals, Chan delivered her most complete performance of the tournament, defeating Mercedes Laub with a confident 6–1, 6–1 victory. Controlling the baseline, dictating rallies, and minimizing errors, Chan demonstrated why she is considered one of the most promising competitors.
