Rising tennis talent Nevette Turner delivered an impressive performance at the Emilio Sanchez Academy L5 Girls 12U event.
Turner began her campaign in dominant form, dispatching Ivy Alexis in the Round of 16 with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 victory. Her momentum continued into the quarterfinals, where she faced a tougher challenge from Mia Merluse. After a strong first set, Turner held her nerve in a tense second-set tiebreak to seal the win 6-1, 7-6 (10-8).
In the semifinals, Turner faced Milana Babanova and delivered another decisive performance, controlling the match from start to finish with a 6-2, 6-0 win that secured her place in the finals.
The championship match was a true test of character and endurance. Facing the #1 Seed Adiva Rosenberg, Turner dropped the first set 4-6, but quickly regrouped. She stormed back in the second set with a 6-2 win, forcing a decisive match tiebreak. There, Turner was nearly flawless, dominating the breaker 10-1 to clinch the title.
