Vanna Turner Dominates at the 2025 USTA City of Plantation Junior Championships

Plantation, FL — The 2025 USTA City of Plantation Junior Championships held at the Frank Veltri Tennis Center saw rising star Vanna Turner deliver an outstanding performance, capturing the title. As the No. 4 seed in the tournament, Turner powered her way through the draw, overcoming strong competition and adversity to claim the championship.

Turner kicked off her tournament campaign with a commanding win in the round of 32, defeating Alina Merz in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2.

Her toughest test came in the round of 16 against Valentina Kukeeva, a gritty opponent who forced Turner to dig deep. After splitting the first two sets 4-1 and 2-4, the match came down to a thrilling final set. Turner edged Kukeeva 7-5, showing clutch shot-making under pressure.

The quarterfinals proved to be a masterclass from Turner, who defeated Adriana Contramaestre Bolivar in straight sets, 4-0, 4-0. With flawless execution and minimal unforced errors, Turner maintained complete control throughout the match, showcasing her ability to close out games with authority.

In the semifinals, Turner faced Kira Suleimanova. Unfortunately, the match ended prematurely, as Suleimanova was forced to retire due to injury after a closely fought 4-3 first set.

With the championship on the line, Turner took on Maya Sanilevich in the finals. From the outset, Turner set the tone with aggressive play and mental composure. Though Sanilevich fought back in the second set, Turner remained focused and closed out the match 4-2, sealing her title run in convincing fashion.
